Hello, I am Lela MacArthur, Advertising Manager, with Free Press Publishing. I have been in the newspaper business for 19 years or so, mainly in the circulation/accounting departments, at the Spokesman Review in Spokane WA. We moved from Spokane to the Cheney WA area, so I wanted something closer to home. I started at Free Press Publishing in 2022, in the circulation department. Worked closely with our advertising department in 2023, then in March '24 moved into the Advertising Manager position. Working in the "big city' is a bit different than working at a small town "country" newspaper, which has been very interesting and challenging. But, I love it! Generally the businesses want that special contact, they want to feel like they are important and needed. You need to learn each business's preferences and how to accommodate them. You can be much more personal with the small towns.
