Ellen is the Executive Director of the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association. She began her career in journalism, working for community newspapers in Skagit Valley and Whidbey Island. She continued her career for 20 years as an independent communications consultant for nonprofits, public agencies and small businesses to define their communications and fundraising strategies. Membership development and fundraising continued as the Communications and Development Director and External Relations Specialist for nonprofits in Mount Vernon, Washington.
