Biography
Roger Harnack is the publisher and editor of The Daily Sun News, a division of Eagle Newspapers, Inc. Prior to publishing a daily newspaper, Roger was the publisher and editor of The Omak-Okanogan County Chronicle in Omak, Wash.; and the group publisher for Southwest Iowa Publishing Co., based in Red Oak, Iowa. His long journalism career includes working as a reporter and photographer at The Observer in New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; and as editor of several newspapers across the country, including the Peninsula Daily News in Port Angeles, Wash.; The Daily Record in Ellensburg, Wash.; The East Oregonian in Pendleton, Ore.; The Sentinel-Standard in Ionia, Mich.; and the Daily Democrat in Decatur, Ind. He was also the bureau chief for Pacific Stars and Stripes, having lived and worked in Japan.

Roger has won numerous writing, page design and photography awards, including two Golden Dozen awards from the International Society of Weekly Newspaper Editors and the Golden Quill, the top international award for editorial writing.

Outside of the newspaper industry, Roger is active in search and rescue and is the promotor for the Northwest Jet Sports Association, a group in which he also races personal watercraft.

Roger has one daughter, Olivia.
